REVEALED! How P-Square's Father Died inside Their Omole Mansion!

The death of Mazi Moses Okoye, the father of Africa super-star, P Square, was so sudden that those who saw him a few hours before he slumped in the Omole, Ikeja, Lagos home of his sons are still in shock.
EncomiumMagazine reveal that just before the septugenarian’s tragic death, he was clad in only singlet and boxers, watching cable television with some visitors until about 10pm yesterday(Monday, November 24, 2014) when he disengaged to his bedroom where he suddenly collapsed.
He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, but he unfortunately gave up before doctors attended to him.
The Jos (Plateau state)-based Pa Okoye, who left Jos for Lagos some two weeks ago for a knee surgery, normally had respiratory (breathing) issues, which many believe might have led to his death.
He had an appointment with his doctor today (Tuesday, November 25, 2014) over his recent knee surgery.
Before his death, he had sat upon a thriving ‘pure water’ and bakery business in Jos.

Angola Say NO, Search Continues For 2015 Africa Cup of Nations Hosts

Enyeama
Angola announced on Wednesday they were not interested in replacing Morocco as eleventh hour hosts of the crisis-hit 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

Angola's decision leaves three potential candidates - Egypt, Gabon and Nigeria - to put on the continental showcase.

Morocco were stripped of the right to host it after insisting on a postponement, citing as their reason the deadly Ebola epidemic.
Morocco's stance irked organisers the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The federation's president, Issa Hayatou, told France24: "To postpone the Africa Cup of Nations would be like stopping African football dead."

"Once you postpone this event, it will open the door for everybody to ask for a delay of any competition and we will no longer be credible," added the 68-year-old Cameroonian who has been in office since 1988.

Angola had emerged as one of the front runners to come to the aid of the troubled 2015 Nations Cup which is due to start in two months time, on January 17.

The oil-rich state's insistence that they were not interested in hosting a competition they staged in 2010 came from Joao Lusevikueno, vice president of the Angolan football federation.

He told AFP by telephone from Luanda: "Angola is not going to host the competition, we haven't presented our candidature and it is not our intention to do so."

He added that to step in and organise a competition of this scale in two months -- it is due to start on January 17 -- was "virtually impossible".

Angola's staging of the 2010 Nations Cup was marred by the attack on the Togo team bus by separatists in the restless enclave of Cabinda which killed two people.

With Angola out of the picture the countries thought to be still in contention for taking over from Morocco as 2015 hosts are multiple African champions Egypt, Gabon, which co-hosted the 2012 edition with Equatorial Guinea, and reigning champions Nigeria.

Organisers the Confederation of African Football are due to announce the next hosts "in two or three days" Hayatou said.

The Cup was thrown into jeopardy in early October when Morocco first called for a delay.

CAF however eventually lost patience with the north African country and on Tuesday barred them out as hosts and participants with a heavy fine likely to follow.

The fact that Morocco are also set to host the Club World Cup, only 25 days before the scheduled January 17 kickoff, threw further doubts over Morocco's reasons prompting Hayatou and his members to pull the plug.

Rumours that the three-week football feast could be moved outside Africa with 2022 World Cup hosts Qatar an unprecedented option were quickly dismissed by Qatar Football Association vice-president Saud al-Muhannadin.

"It is illogical, the news is false." he told AFP.

Moroccan sports minister Mohamed Ouzzine defended their stance and said they had simply asked for a postponement, until the Ebola disease was brought under control.

"The CAF statement said we refuse to organise the Nations Cup, and it's wrong. We want the tournament in our country, but we maintain our demand to postpone it," Ouzzine told parliament.

CAF executive committee member Constant Omari defended the decision to strip the 1976 winners of the right to stage what would have been their second tournament, after 1988, when they reached the semi-finals.

"The CAF put no pressure on Morocco but they are a member who belong to the CAN (Nations Cup). We signed an agreement that the CAN would be organised between January 17 and February 8 and there was no talk of postponement during the inspections.

"Then two months before the tournament, Morocco decide they want to change the dates.

"These dates have not been decided randomly, it is a season when all of Africa has a period of more or less dry weather. We have incorporated these dates into the universal FIFA calendar and it is our showcase event."

The CAF also confirmed that qualification matches for the tournament will go ahead as planned on November 14-15 w

Slow process characterises INEC voter registration in Plateau

The residents of Plateau, who turned out in large numbers for the fresh voters’ registration, continued to groan over the slow pace of the process.
The fresh registration, which started on Wednesday, is to capture those who could not get the Permanent Voter Cards because they were not captured in the first exercise conducted in 2011.
Large queues of voters are gradually thinning out as more impatient voters leave out of frustration.
In most centres visited in Jos on Thursday, very few voters had been registered in the exercise that had entered the second day.
One of the registrants, Anna Davou, complained that the process had been too slow.
“I was here yesterday and even came back very early today but there are no signs that the machine is working,’’ she said.
Another prospective registrant, Godwim Omale, told NAN that he had been on the queue since Thursday morning but that only one person had been captured  as at 11.30 a.m.
Miss Pamela Gugu, the INEC Registration Officer in Giring federal ward, who spoke on the complaints trailing the exercise, said that most of the materials for the registration were not available.
“The machines are also very slow; some are malfunctioning and that makes it very difficult to capture the biometrics,” she said.
Mr Shalom Zachariah, a student who came for the registration at mountain Grill polling unit, complained that he had been on one spot of the long queue for ‘more than four hours’.
“As you can see, the INEC officials are yet to arrive,” he lamented.
Zachariah alleged that the machines used in the 2011 elections were the same ones brought to the polling unit even when they were not good.
Mr Gally Bot, Councillor representing Hwolshe ward in Jos South Local Government, also lamented the slow pace and frustration by the process.
“INEC asked us to mobilise people to register, now the people are here but the process is just too slow to be taken seriously,’’ he said.
He advised INEC to create more registration centres and provide more machines to speed up the process.
“The population here is very high and INEC must take steps to capture everyone,” he said.
Bot recalled that less than 50 people were captured and given PVCs out of over 1,000 people that registered at the centre in 2011.
He cautioned INEC against a deliberate attempt to frustrate the voters.
Mr Johnson Nengak, a student of Plateau Polytechnic, decried the stress voters were going through in their efforts to get registered.
“It is unfortunate that voters are eager to register but the machines are not reliable; INEC must provide more personnel and quality materials to carry out the exercise if they are indeed sincere,’’ he said.

Photos : President Jonathan Unveils The Hundred Naira Centenary Note

Hundred Naira Centenary Note
President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday formally unveiled the new N100 commemorative notes at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Vice President Namadi Sambo and the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Governor, Godwin Emefiele, joined the President to unveil the note during the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting.

Shortly after presenting the note, Emefiele said it was issued to commemorate the 100 years of the nation’s amalgamation.

He said the new note was produced with what he described as most advanced security features in the world.

Emefiele listed the design platforms on which the note was made to include security, durability, attractiveness, cultural heritage and transformation.

Jonathan lauded the CBN for coming up with the commemorative note, though it was coming a bit late since activities marking the nation’s centenary had been concluded.

Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, also commended the CBN for coming up with the notes.
She specifically lauded the QRC feature on the back of the note.
The code, if scanned with smart phones, leads users to a website where the nation’s history could be accessed.
The minister also raised questions on the amount the CBN will use to print the new notes and whether it would be done locally.
Jonathan however said the questions would be answered when a memorandum on the issue is presented to the council.

Lagos State Governorship Aspirant, Special Adviser Arraigned For Murder

File photo
The atmosphere of the Ebute Meta Chief Magistrate’s Court was tense on Tuesday when a former Commissioner for Rural Development and a governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, Tola Kasali, 62, was arraigned for murder.

Arraigned with him were the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Politics and Legislative Matters, Musiliu Folami, 64, and Kasali’s Chief Security Officer, Tobun Abiodun, 38.

The court was filled with party loyalists, supporters and family members of the accused persons, as many others stood outside the court.

They were arraigned on four counts bordering on murder and unlawful possession of firearms.
The police said the men conspired to kill one Musiliu Lamidi on November 9, 2014, around 2pm at Eko Tourism Hotel, Akodo, in the Ibeju-Lekki area of the state.

The police added that they were found in possession of a pump-action gun, with number 6381, without a valid licence issued by the appropriate authorities.

The corpse of the deceased was said to have been found on the premises of one of the defendants.

The offences were said to be punishable under sections 231, 221 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011 and Section 27 (b)(1) of the Firearms Act, Cap 28 Laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 2011.

Their pleas were not taken by the court for the offences.

However, a senior state counsel, Femi Adamson, who came from the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation, invoked a section of the law to take over prosecution from the police.

He said, “I am a senior state counsel and I want to take over the prosecution of this case. This is pursuant to Section 211 (1b), (2) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended.”

Why I Came To Nigeria To Steal" - Ghanian Citizen Makes Shocking Confession!

http://cdn.pmnewsnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Israel-Nana-who-said-he-came-to-Nigeria-to-steal.jpg

A Ghanian citizen resident in Nigeria, Israel Nana has confessed that his mission to Nigeria was to dispose people of their valuable properties and become rich before going back to his country.

The 30-year old Nana said he nearly accomplished his mission and was preparing to return to Ghana when he was arrested.

Nana said he came to Nigeria five years ago and had been busy stealing and making money but nemesis however caught up with him.

He said he was a well known criminal in his home town in Kumasi, Ghana and because of his renowned notorious activities, he decided to relocate to Nigeria to continue his criminal activities.

On how he came to Nigeria, he said his friend who lives in Nigeria helped him secure passage into the country, adding that, immediately he got into Nigeria, he began stealing and later graduated to car snatching.

He said since he came to Nigeria, he had lived in four cities in four states namely, Abuja, Lagos, Edo and Rivers.

He said he settled for car snatching because “you don’t need sophisticated weapon such as guns, pistol bullets etc to carry out the operation and it was easy to dispose the cars because a buyer was already ready to pay the money”.

On the choice of cars he specialize in stealing, he said the demand are Toyota Cars especially Camry but Honda, Nissan Jeeps and others were also in high demand.

He said he was arrested in Rivers State after one Alhaji who buys stolen cars from him was arrested in Abuja a fortnight ago.

He said he was still surprised on what was happening to him because he never thought he would be arrested.

Nana is a member of the five-man gang car syndicate arrested by the Lagos State Anti-Robbery Squad for car snatching in Nigeria.

They were paraded by the Lagos State Commissioner of police, Mr Kayode Aderanti at Ikeja, Lagos. Some of the vehicles stolen were also recovered across cities in Nigeria.

'America sent Ebola to Africa to punish us, then left my brother to die like a dog' - Eric Duncan's Sister

Eric Duncan's Sister
In an extraordinary interview with MailOnline, Mary Pearson claimed that Ebola virus was created as part of an experiment to infect black people on the continent - echoing the views of a race-hate preacher who says Ebola was invented to 'depopulate' Africa.
Mrs Pearson, 52, who runs a general store in Liberian capital Monrovia, said:
'What we heard is that Ebola was created by the Americans and they sent it to kill us. 'You are the ones that sent it to kill us. They sent the virus and infected people here. Then they blamed Liberians for Ebola. They killed that boy for nothing.'

Thomas Eric Duncan died in Dallas on October 8 after flying to the US from Liberia three weeks earlier. He was infected when he helped a pregnant neighbour seek hospital treatment.
Mrs Pearson insisted that her brother did not receive the same level of care as American citizens who had contracted the disease and were taken back to the US for treatment. It comes as the Texas Presbyterian Hospital accused of failing in his care was forced to settle with Mr Duncan's family in a secret deal.
Of the nine people who have been treated for Ebola in the U.S., only Duncan has died
His nephew Josephus Weeks said:
'We begged. We pleaded. I even offered my own blood, even though it wouldn't do anything for him.
We requested everything we could think of to save Eric. They said no.'
Mrs Pearson said:
'Eric suffered in exile and it really hurts me.They didn't feel sorry for him. They didn't give him drugs. They had the means to treat him but they treated him like a dog. 'They are wicked. They didn't treat him because they said he brought Ebola to America.'
Duncan was infected on October 15 when he went to help out a pregnant neighbour, Marthaline Williams, 19, who was sick and needed to get to hospital. There was no ambulance available so Duncan loaded her into a taxi and took her himself.
Williams died from Ebola the following day. On 19 September, Duncan flew to the US to join his family there.
Now, as she dwells on the memories of her brother, Mrs Pearson said she is concerned at spreading conspiracy theories in Liberia that the virus was created by the U.S.
She said she gave credence to the rumours because of how her brother was treated after he arrived in America.
Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan has made wild claims that the virus was designed by white scientists specifically to kill off black people - conspiracy theories repeated by villagers in parts of the country.
A distrust of Western medicine and belief in faith healers have seen locals ignore attempts at isolating infected patients.
The 81-year-old, who has previously made similar claims about Aids, wrote:
'There is a weapon that can be put in a room where there are black and white people, and it will kill only the black and spare the white, because it is a genotype weapon that is designed for your genes, for your race, for your kind.
Mrs Pearson's fears are fuelled by the fact that he was apparently well when he left Africa, as his symptoms had not yet started to develop.
'I hugged him and I was ruffling his hair because he was always cleaning his hair,' said Mrs Pearson.
'He was happy. We were all happy that day. His son had sent for him and he was going to America to see him.'
Duncan worked as a driver for a firm which contracted for FedEx. He had left the job a couple of weeks earlier, said Pearson, after an accident when he cut his knee. When he arrived in the US he called home to say all was well.
'He said pray for me,' she said.
But he gave no reason for asking for their prayers and she did not ask. They first heard he was ill on October 1.
'We didn't hear from him until we heard that someone from here had tested positive for Ebola. Then someone called from FedEx to say that he was sick. I was feeling bad. I called my sister. He couldn't talk himself.'
Duncan presented himself for treatment at the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas on September 25. Despite a high temperature, he was sent home after tests. Three days later he was back, this time transported to the hospital by ambulance. His condition had deteriorated. This time he was tested for Ebola and the results came back positive the next day.
He died on October 8. Although they had been in close contact with him, the family knew that Ebola was not contagious until the symptoms start to show.
'We knew that he didn't have the sickness here so we felt that we were OK,' 'But he had interacted with everyone so we imposed a quarantine on ourselves. No-one official came to do anything.
They started to hear that other neighbours who had helped the Williams family had also died.
'The pastor contracted the virus and died and his wife died and the pastor's son and another lady, Marie, she died too. Plenty people died. More than eight people.'
Everyone knew Duncan was their relative and everyone was afraid of them, she said.
'In the first place no-one would come to my shop. But then my daughter said to reopen the shop.
People started to come, but one at a time, because they were afraid. it was not until 21 days had gone [the length of the quarantine period] that they started to come back properly.'

Eight Women Die After Surgery at Sterilization ‘Camp’ In India

Indian state officials said on Tuesday that not less than eight women have died after going through sterilization surgery at a government-run “camp” in a central Indian state of Chhattisgarh. Ten more women who also went though the same procedure were in serious condition. Reuters reporters were there:

The women fell ill on Monday after having laparoscopic tubectomies two days earlier at a so-called family planning camp at a village. Such camps are held regularly in Chhattisgarh and other Indian states as part of a long-running effort to control India’s booming population.

The 83 women who underwent tubectomies at the camp received incentive payments of 1,400 rupees ($23) to have the surgery, according to R.K. Bhange, Bilaspur’s chief medical officer. Health workers also got 200 ($3.25) rupees for bringing a woman to the camp.

The cause of the deaths of the eight women had not been determined, according to Bhange, but he said they had been vomiting before they died.
Senior state health officials have been sent to investigate.

Lagos Pastor arrested for allegedly impregnating 11yrs old girl

A 32-year-old pastor has been remanded in prison for allegedly raping and impregnating an 11-year-old girl (names withheld) in Lagos State. The pastor whose church is located at Odunbaku Street in Iju Ishaga, a Lagos suburb, was arraigned at a Senior Magistrates’ Court, Abule Egba, Lagos State.

According to reports, the pastor allegedly told the victim’s mother that there is an arrow of death in her house and must move out to avoid death. In obedience, the woman moved into the church with her children.
But trouble started when the woman noticed some strange behaviour by her daughter who complained of stomach pain and showed signs of malaria.
According to the mother, she contacted a nurse who then treated her for malaria, but the sickness continued until she underwent a scan which revealed that she was pregnant.

It was later discovered that she was two months pregnant and when pressed further, she revealed that the pastor gave her ‘holy water’ to drink and also gave her a red substance to rub on her face.

The victim further added that she became unconscious only for her to see the pastor on her.

When she wanted to scream, she said he used his hand to cover her mouth before sleeping with her, and told her she would die if she told anyone.

When the charges were read, the pastor pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge.

The presiding magistrate, Mr. T. A. Elias, ordered him remanded in prison custody, pending the advice of Directorate of Public Prosecution and adjourned the case to January 2015.

No time to check time!!! Jennifer Lopez Ex Husband,Marc Anthony remarries

Just few months after divorce, Marc Anthony has made Venezuelan model Shannon De Lima his third wife after exchanging vows in the Dominican Republic on Tuesday. The couple, which became engaged in secret in March after dating on and off for two years, wed during a ceremony at Anthony’s residence in the luxury Casa de Campo beachside golf resort in the city of La Romana. The nuptials took place hours after the singer’s dad, Felipe Muniz, was denied entry to his son’s home after security officials failed to recognize him. Muniz reportedly threatened to skip the wedding and head back to his native Puerto Rico if bodyguards refused to contact Anthony directly to confirm his identity.
He was subsequently allowed access to the pad. The marriage is the 46-year-old salsa star’s third – he was previously wed to beauty queen Dayanara Torres and finalized his divorce from Jennifer Lopez earlier this year. Anthony has six children from previous relationships, including twins with Lopez.
